This Grade II listed folly in the grounds of Duddon Hall has been extended and converted to residential use.
The existing building required additional space in order to make the conversion viable; the solution was to add a contemporary glass box set back from the original building so as not to compete with its classical form. This approach was strongly supported by the Local Authority’s Conservation Dept.
The original building, including high quality stone carving and stained glass work has been carefully restored.
The project was awarded ‘Best one-off house conversion or extension’ by the LABC Northern Region.
