Extension and refurbishment of a Grade I Listed Building and Scheduled Ancient Monument on a moated site.

A new contemporary stone and glass extension to the Medieval manor house contains a garden room with bedroom above, both overlooking the moat and links existing accommodation wings via a new porch and staircase. The approach was supported by the local authority and heritage bodies.

Great care was required in the design of the building and internal alterations so as to retain as much of the historic fabric as possible and to achieve a high quality addition to the ancient structure. Landscaping works enhance the building’s unique setting.
